ROAS (return on ad spend) tells you how much revenue you earn for every taka spent on ads. A ROAS of 4 means ৳4 in sales for every ৳1 spent. If your Meta ads are getting clicks but not enough sales, these nine tactics — the same ones I use on e-commerce campaigns — will help you improve it.

1. Fix your tracking first

Meta’s algorithm optimizes toward the conversions it can see. Install the Meta Pixel and Conversion API (CAPI), track purchase and lead events with values, and check Events Manager for duplicates or missing events. Better data means smarter delivery and more accurate ROAS. My Pixel and Conversions API guide walks through the setup.

2–4. Creative is the biggest lever

  1. Test several creative angles, not just colours: price, problem/solution, social proof, product demo and offer.
  2. Hook in the first 2–3 seconds of videos and lead with the benefit, not the logo.
  3. Refresh creatives regularly. When frequency rises and CTR falls, the audience is tired of the ad — rotate in new ones.

5–6. Use the right audiences

  1. Give the algorithm room. Broad or lookalike audiences often outperform narrow interest stacks once your pixel has enough conversion data.
  2. Retarget warm audiences — website visitors, add-to-cart users, video viewers and page engagers — with reminder and offer ads. They usually deliver the highest ROAS.

7–8. Fix what happens after the click

  1. Landing page: fast loading, clear price and offer, trust signals (reviews, delivery info, cash on delivery) and a simple checkout. A slow page wastes ad spend — see technical SEO basics for speed tips.
  2. Offer and AOV: bundles, free delivery thresholds and upsells raise average order value, which lifts ROAS without raising ad costs.

9. Scale carefully

When a campaign is profitable, increase budget gradually (for example 15–20% every few days) instead of doubling it overnight, which can reset learning and spike costs. Duplicate winning ad sets into new audiences to scale horizontally, and keep monitoring CPA, CTR, frequency and ROAS weekly.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good ROAS for Facebook ads?

+

It depends on your margins. A business with 50% margins may profit at ROAS 2.5, while low-margin products may need 5 or more. Calculate your break-even ROAS first: 1 ÷ profit margin.

Why did my ROAS suddenly drop?

+

Common causes are creative fatigue, tracking issues, rising competition (e.g. during sale seasons), budget changes that reset learning, or problems on the website such as slow loading or stock issues.
