What's new in Articulate Storyline

Courses are built with the current Articulate 360 AI tools, not old workflows. These are the recent changes that matter most for your project.

Articulate 360 AI

Since September 2026 the core subscription is called Articulate 360 AI. It still includes Storyline, Rise, Review and Reach, so existing courses and .story files keep working.

AI Assistant in Storyline

Generate draft text, quiz questions and images inside Storyline, and edit AI-generated images directly in AI Chat without leaving the project.

Sync timelines with audio

AI Assistant can line up slide animations and on-screen objects with the narration, which saves a lot of manual timeline work.

Localizable timelines

Each language version of a Storyline course can have its own timeline timing, so translated narration stays in sync.

Quick layout fixes after translation

Articulate Localization finds text overflow and spacing problems in translated Storyline projects and fixes them across the project in one click.

Accessibility improvements

Likert survey questions now work with keyboard and screen readers, and the timeline has a toggle for which objects screen readers can reach.

How a Storyline module gets built

Storyboard first, then build, review and test.

01

Storyboard

Content, screens and interactions agreed on paper before building, so changes stay cheap.

02

Build & review

The module built in Storyline and shared in Articulate Review, with every comment tracked and resolved.

03

Publish & test

Published for your LMS and tested for completion, scoring, bookmarking and mobile playback.

FAQ

Common questions

What does an Articulate Storyline developer do?

Turns training content into interactive e-learning in Articulate Storyline: designs the screens, builds interactions with triggers, states, layers and variables, creates quizzes, publishes SCORM or xAPI packages and tests them in the LMS.

Is Storyline 360 the same as Articulate Storyline?

Yes. Storyline 360 is the subscription version of Articulate Storyline. Since September 2026 Articulate sells it as part of Articulate 360 AI, together with Rise, Review and Reach, and usually just calls it Storyline.

Are you available as a freelance Storyline developer?

Yes. I take on Storyline projects remotely for organisations in Bangladesh and abroad: new modules, updates to existing courses and conversions of PowerPoint training.

Can you edit or update an existing Storyline course?

Yes. Send the .story source file and I can update content, fix interactions, rebrand screens, add new slides or republish it for a different LMS standard.

Which LMS formats can Storyline courses be published to?

Storyline publishes to SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI (Tin Can), cmi5 and AICC, as well as web and video output. The course is published to whatever your LMS supports.

Can Storyline courses be made accessible?

Yes. Storyline supports alt text, focus order, keyboard navigation and closed captions, and recent updates improved screen reader support. Accessibility is planned from the storyboard stage when it is a requirement.
