How Much to Spend on Facebook Ads in Bangladesh: A Budget Plan
Set a Facebook and Instagram ads budget from your margins and target cost per sale, plan the learning phase and know when to scale, for brands in Bangladesh.
“How much should I spend on Facebook ads?” is the question I hear most from business owners. There is no single right number — but there is a right way to calculate it from your own margins and goals. Guessing leads to budgets that are too small to learn anything or too big to be profitable.
Start from what a customer is worth
Before choosing a budget, work out how much you can afford to pay to win one customer. Take your average order value and your profit margin: if an order is worth 3,000 taka and your margin is 40%, each sale earns 1,200 taka in profit. That 1,200 is your break-even cost per acquisition (CPA) — spend more than that per sale and you lose money on the first order.
Turn your target CPA into a daily budget
Meta’s delivery system learns from conversions. An ad set generally needs around 50 optimization events per week to leave the learning phase and perform steadily. Multiply your expected CPA by that number to see what full learning would cost, then decide how close you can get:
- Expected CPA × 50 ÷ 7 ≈ the daily budget for one ad set to learn quickly.
- If that is too high, optimize for an earlier, cheaper event (for example add-to-cart or lead instead of purchase) until volume grows.
- Use fewer ad sets with more budget each instead of spreading a small budget thin across many.
Plan a 2–4 week test
Treat the first weeks as a test, not a verdict. Run two or three creatives against one or two audiences, avoid editing ad sets every day (big edits restart learning), and judge results on cost per lead or sale — not on likes, reach or cost per click.
Things that change your real cost
- Creative quality — strong hooks and clear offers often cut costs more than any targeting change.
- Landing page speed and clarity — a slow or confusing page wastes the clicks you paid for.
- Tracking — without the Meta Pixel and Conversions API, Meta can’t optimize toward real buyers.
- Seasonality — Eid, Pohela Boishakh and year-end sales raise competition and ad prices; plan budgets around them.
- Payment costs — if your ad account is billed in US dollars, factor in your card or agency charges when you budget in taka.
When to scale
Scale only after a campaign hits your target CPA for at least a week. Raise budgets gradually — around 20% every few days — so delivery stays stable, and keep adding fresh creatives as older ones tire. My guide on improving ROAS on Facebook and Instagram covers the optimization side.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum budget for Facebook ads?
+
Meta allows very small daily budgets, but a budget that is too small rarely produces enough conversions to learn. Calculate it from your expected cost per result instead of picking the minimum.
Is it better to boost posts or use Ads Manager?
+
Ads Manager. It gives you proper objectives, conversion optimization, audience control, placements and testing — boosting is mainly built for engagement.
How long before Facebook ads show results?
+
Expect one to two weeks for delivery to stabilize and two to four weeks of testing before judging a campaign, provided tracking is set up correctly.
